I launched Greenwood Ecology in 2015 following a move from Bristol, where I worked as a Principal Ecologist for a leading environmental consultancy. Having gained a wide range of experiences within the conservation and environmental sectors, I wanted to offer my own, bespoke service to clients.
With numerous protected species licences, I now specialise in the collection of ecological survey data for other environmental consultancies and a range of various clients. My main specialisms lie in the ecology of birds, bats and other protected mammal species. As well as ecological surveys & assessments I am also experienced in providing advice on sustainable land management, particularly in relation to woodland management and agroecology.
I joined Greenwood Ecology & Conservation in September 2016 after three years working as Ecosystem Services Officer at the RSPB. Deciding on a move away from the commuter lifestyle I joined the company on a part time basis to develop their capacity to deliver ecosystem services related projects.
My work focuses on examining ways in which environmentally sensitive land management practices can be supported through sustainable, long term funding mechanisms for the benefit of both people and nature, and draws on my previous experience as a key member of the RSPB’s Energy for Nature project team and my PhD research. I am also an experienced field ecologist, with a background in plant and pollinator surveys, and lead on the development of ecological monitoring and evaluation strategies.
