Where planners consider a development has the potential to impact a 'green space', they are likely to require an Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) to inform and accompany a planning application (the detail of which will depend on the development proposals). The starting point for most EcIAs is the 'Extended Phase 1 Habitat survey'. This maps and classifies the habitats present on a site and assesses the likelihood of protected species being present.
We have extensive experience of undertaking Extended Phase 1 Habitat surveys in a wide variety of habitats including moorland, farmland, post-industrial sites and lowland meadows. If more specialist botanical surveys are required, we can call upon a range of highly skilled and specialist botanists who can provide these services.
